2014
Significant investment was injected into the project to make the mine and processing site operational. This included the establishment of storm ponds, a diesel power station, mining infrastructure to further develop the MCR Tenements to increase resources. Since the re-commencement of production in 2014, the copper cathode produced and sold by MCR is 17,218 tonnes.
2019
Malaco Leichhardt partnered with Dragon Field (DFIL) & YGL to raise additional investment for further drilling and exploration work, which included developing and determining the amount of resource within the Crusader Resource. Once the resource was developed, 300,000 tonnes of high-grade sulphide ore was mined from the Crusader Resource. Malaco Leichhardt renamed as Mt Cuthbert Resources (“MCR”) in recognition of the MCR Project’s historical copper mining significance in Queensland, Australia.
2020
Copper Resources Australia acquired the Rocklands site in December.
Since the purchase and taking over the management of the Rocklands Mine, CRA has invested heavily in identifying technical and operational issues and took approximately 12 months to rectify such issues, during which time CRA grew from two (2) employees to 160 employees and successfully produced its first commercial grade of copper concentrate in November 2021.
2021
Mt Cuthbert Group includes Mt Cuthbert Resources & Copper Resources Australia. Since the re-commissioning of the production facilities of CRA in November 2021, up until August 2022, our Group has produced and sold approximately 19,716 tonnes of copper concentrate. Present - Both MCR and CRA have a unique position whereby each have processing facilities for copper oxide and sulphide ores respectively. This is a key strategic driver which allows our Group to produce copper products from our assets regardless of the copper ore type, which can be transported to either project site for processing. Currently, we are the only copper mining company in Queensland which has such synergistic processing capabilities.
